QUEENSCLIFF HARBOUR
Excellent catches of Trevally to
1.5kg being the biggest this week.
Turtle backs being the best soft plastic with Pipis and
Chicken being best bait.
There are large numbers however you have to compete with
the Dolphins who have been
making regular visits in the Harbour.
Still good catches of Squid in the harbour taking 2.5
jigs different colours.
There are also a few Salmon and King George Whiting
around where you have to play the tides.
Large Bream have been seen around the boat ramp which
canoeists have been trying for.
QUEENSCLIFF, PORTSEA & PORT
PHILLIP HEADS
We finally got some good size
salmon up to 2 kg in and around Point Nepean.
King George Whiting on the Grass Beds & the White Lady
with fresh squid & top up of Pipis.
Make sure you have a long Leader and make the bait swim
not spin.
Our Giant Southern Calamari are starting to be on the go
with Crocs around the 1.5 – 2kg mark on good quality
squid jigs.
Baited jigs also a must but must be fresh. The Squid
will get bigger!
Drifting in the heads you will always be guaranteed of a
feed of Assorted Reef Fish from Large Leather Jackets,
Red Mullet, Blue Devil Fish, Marwong or Queen Snapper.
BASS STRAIT – (Cape Shank
to Torquay)
This time of the year we usually
concentrate just inside Port Phillip Heads where our
quality fish are holding up.
A Few trips down to Barwon Heads last week were slow but
managed to pick up a nice School Shark of 12 kg
along with some pinkies to just under a kg. By catches
of Wide mouth Cod, Sergeant Bakers & Nanagui.
